Mintspiration

This is a March of the Bloggers guest post!

"Just in Time for Spring...
Tongue in Cheeky's Mintspiration"

***

It's the freakin' weekend, ladies! Hopefully you're not stuck inside like I am thanks to Chicago's ever-volatile weather. But if you are, how about sitting down with a cup of tea and reading this next lovely blog post?

Our guest blogger Ann runs a fashion blog that does it all. She's a vintage lover (like us!) who covers style AND makeup and even has tutorials to help you achieve beautiful vintage looks. I adore this blog and I think you will too after you read this post.

Anyone that knows me is more than aware of my affinity for the color green...especially in the mint variety. Green has been my favorite color since I was a child...I think it's because it reminds me of spring, the season of renewal and growth (and another favorite, rain!).

Naturally, I decided to post about a couple of my favorite things today...mint green, and fashion! It's a super popular color right now, that you can find everywhere! I've found mint green blazers, purses, skirts, blouses, you name it!

Here I have a styleboard that I've curated with my favorite mint items, and you can find a couple of them right here on Frock Stock!

The Antigone Dress in Seafoam is absolutely perfect for spring! The Grecian-inspired draping and soft silhouette will fit any figure.

How can anyone not adore the Dance the Polka Sash in Mint? Not only is it an amazing color, but it has polka dots! A great way to add some color and a print to a dull outfit in a snap.

The other three items are from my personal "mint" collection, which are also my favorite pieces! Of course, my prized possession is the fabulous cocktail hat that I found at an antique store for $5!

Who else has a mint obsession? I'd love to see everyone else's favorite items!

I'm obsessed with mint myself right now. It was already one of my favorite colors to wear before this big trend came out and now that it's big I'm literally scooping up every mint item I see before it disappears! (I even bought mint tennis shoes yesterday!)

If you loved Ann's post you absolutely need to head on over to her pretty blog. It's seriously a must-read! Also, leave some comments about what you think about the mint trend for a chance to win some jewelry tonight!

Yesterday was the first "official" day of Spring but we are already making our way into late Spring and early summer styles in the fashion world, which can only mean one thing... color, color, color!

If you're still in your fall and winter mutes then it's imperative you take a look at what our guest blogger Calley has to say today! One of my favorite blogger trends of late is inspiration posts and Calley does a lot of this over at her fabulous blog. Full of inspirations, photo collages, and more, her blog always has an eye for the beautiful and striking. She's here with a few of her amazing collages to pay homage to the necessity of color in our lives.

Our favorite colors this Spring are all shades of lavender, mint, yellow, chartreuse, and pink!! We love them in pastels AND neons and especially mixed with neutrals!  WE HEART COLOR!! xo, the cult of style

Trends I'm Loving

This is a March of the Bloggers guest post!

"Trends I'm Loving"
by Candice of Teatime Thoughts

Good morning Frock Stalkers! Hope everyone is loving the March blogging event so far. We've got a great blogger to introduce today... Candice! This beautiful girl runs a life and style blog that is always adorable and chic. I personally love her "Wordless Wednesday" series where she posts beautiful images she's saved over the week. She's here with some more fabulous Spring style advice!

Hi there! I'm Candice from Teatime Thoughts, a life & style blog that mixes musings with daily fashion.

Well, spring is in full bloom, ladies, and there's nothing that I love more than the trends that come with it. Enjoying the breezy skirts and dresses with high-low hemlines, beautiful blooms of floral prints splashed across just about everything, (hello printed pants!!), the reappearance of lace, colorblocking, and the most divine shade of seafoam/mint that is everywhere I look. If I had to pick a season, spring would totally be my favorite. Here's a few great ways to incorporate some beautiful spring fashion into your wardrobe, many of which you can find from Frock Stock!
Here's a few key pieces that you'll want to add to your wardrobe:

1. High-low hem dress or skirt: These are so fun, fresh and flirty. If you find one in a flowing chiffon, it makes for a beautiful silhouette in the wind, and is perfect for a Sunday brunch. Bonus points for incorporating the always lovely floral print trend into the look as well!

2. Mint/Seafoam pants: This elegant yet playful pastel has made it's name known this season, and it just so happens to look flattering on every skin tone. To style it, you can add a lace top and pale pink accents, or toughen it up with a black blazer and some moto boots.

3. Lace dress: whether you're off to a tea party, or an evening on the town, a lace dress will always be effortlessly chic. Keep yourself from looking washed out by adding some fun accessories such as a pretty flowing scarf in a coral or aqua shade, and add some pretty accessories like gold heart earrings or delicate hammered bangles with stone accents.

4. Chic clutch: Declared the new "it bag", the clutch is making its daytime debut as a popular handbag to grab on your way out the door. No longer reserved for evening affairs only, find a neutral color in a soft leather to be the perfect compliment to your outfit. Running errands, coffee dates or taking a trip to the beach, here's your new companion!

Aren't you in love with Spring?! Here's to a season of effortless, beautiful fashion!

Spring Color: Pastels

This is a March of the Bloggers guest post!

"Spring Color"
by Shannon of Shannon Heart's

It's Monday, so if you're bored and stuck in the office, we've got a little treat for your break today! With me here is Shannon, a blogger that I look up to greatly. Not only does Shannon have fabulous style advice on her blog, but she's got some amazing accomplishments to go with it. Shannon has almost 800 followers on her blog and some pretty big sponsors of her page. Once you see her post, you'll see why...

Hello Frock Stock readers!  I am Shannon from Shannon Heart's.  I am so excited to be here today.  I am a California girl who loves fashion, food, friends and blogging!  I blog about personal style, fashion, photography and all the beautiful things that inspire me along the way.

The warm days of spring are approaching quickly, and I couldn't be more excited.  Spring fashion is all about flirty dresses, pretty colors and feminine prints.  My favorite color trend of the season is pastels.  Pastels are soft and pretty and so easy to wear.   You can mix and match different pastel shades, or wear one shade from head to toe.  My favorite shades of the season are peach and mint.  I just can't get enough of pastels!  How about you?

Thank you so much for having me!  Much love to all of you.  Please pop over and visit me at Shannon Heart's.

I can't agree more with Shannon. I LOVE pastels and I'm so glad they're in style right now. A lot of my vintage items are pastel so I'm busting out quite a few right now. I definitely think the "IT" pastel right now is mint, so if you invest in any pastel this spring, that's a big one to look out for!

Don't forget to check out Shannon's blog and tell her what you think of pastels in the comment box for a chance to win some free jewelry!
